- Bike shorts. It seems like bike shorts have become really popular this summer, and most of the people wearing them are not biking. I wasn’t really a fan at first. Why not just wear leggings or running shorts? But I decided to give them a shot. And I get it. I started with a cheap pair to start from Old Navy. Not only have I loved running in them, but I they have been the perfect WFH uniform. I just bought a second pair from Beyond Yoga that are a comfier material and I can’t wait for them to come in.
- House plants. I’ve been really jealous of people’s house plants for months. This spring I planted some basil and thyme that are not dying and some rosemary that has been on life support for while. But I had yet to invest in anything else. We don’t have any outside space, and while our apartment is super bright, we don’t get direct sunlight. I also don’t trust Daisy not to eat a plant in her reach. But this weekend I finally bit the bullet and I’m really obsessed with my new babies. I highly recommend going to a local green house and asking for some help. I told them about my apartment and made sure I was getting something that wouldn’t kill my dog, and also could not be easily killed by me. If you’re local to the Syracuse area, I highly recommend Carol Watson Greenhouse!

- Thai Basil Cashew Chicken with Coconut Rice. We have been absolutely loving this recipe the last few weeks. However, the version we have been making is a little different. When I first tried it out I didn’t have cashews or bell peppers so I just skipped those parts. We liked it so much that we just keep making it the same way. This week we paired with some roasted broccoli and it was so yummy. Fast. Simple. Delicious. 10/10 recommend.
- Ali and the Experts. I’ve been a fan of the Ali on the Run podcast for while now. She’s done her Ali and the Experts series a few different times, but I loved this last season more than ever. My favorites this time were Kaitlin Goodman, running coach; Mandi Woodruff, personal finance expert; and Dr. Nicole Detling, mental performance coach. So much good advice in areas I didn’t even realize I was looking for it. Definitely check it out.
- Autumn Indie on Spotify. This pairs really nicely with the Bath & Body Works fall candles I’ve been burning since the clock struck midnight on Sept 1. I listen to it while I work, on the run, in the car, you name it. All of the fall vibes, and honestly most of my favorite artists during any season.
That’s all for now. Have a great week!
Cheers!
